TDS effect where vendor is debited

Hi all,

We sometimes randomly pass journal entry for TDS deduction on a vendor(Which is due to short deduction earlier). The JV would be :

Vendor -Debit

TDS -credit

However, am unable to pass this kind of entry as there is no tax journal available for TDS in Ax 2009 and a simple journal entry will not give its effect in TDS tax settlement run. 

Any help on this?

    Can you explain a bit more on what TDS is and the other abbreviations you use.

    Hi Ludwig,

    TDS here is Tax Deducted at Source.wherein a company directly deducts tax on payments to be made to a vendor(other than supplier of goods). This tax is deducted on behalf of government.

    Do you have a separate sales tax code setup for your TDS?

    If this is not the case can you provide some more details how you setup TDS?

    Hi Ludwig,

    It would be difficult to explain the whole set up of TDS in this write up as its a long process..
