Create Email Activity without creating Contact

Hi,

Is it possible to create an email activity without having contact.

When an unknown customer/contact sends an email to crm, automatically contact gets created in crm with that email Id and after that with the reference to that newly created contact an email activity gets created.

I have requirement to create activity but not the contact for unknown sender. When I uncheck create contact from set personal options, it is not creating eamail activity.

Is there any other work-around for this.

Hello,

No, It's not possible, You can't create activity without target record.

As a workaround you can remove automatic record creation option and create one custom entity with email enabled. And you can track your emails to custom entity manually from outlook. Once you are want to create contact, you can setup procedure to create contact from your custom entity.
