Notifications for quote expiration date

Posted on by 5

Hello,

I would like to know how to create a notification in Dynamics 365 Sales when a quote in our system is over 6 weeks old from the created on date. Ideally it would email their manager to review.

Thank you for any assistance.

    Hi Najla,

To generate an In-App Notification automatically when Quote in system is more than 6 weeks old... you could use Zap Objects : In-App Notifications Generator App too!

Here is a blog that shows an example scenario of how to generate this recurring notification automatically when Opportunity Est Close Date is in Next X days...https://zapobjects.com/microsoftdynamics365_powerapps_zap_notifications_generator/generate-in-app-notifications-automatically-as-per-recurring-schedule-when-using-zap-notifications-generator-app-for-dynamics-365-for-sales-customer-service-power-apps-eg-notifying-opportunity-own/

    Hi,

Please refer to my steps via workflow.

Firstly, you can create a new calculated field to calculate the number of days the quote has been created.

Then go to Advanced settings>Setting>Process>New to create a new workflow.

Then set the condition properties, choose wait condition.

    Then send email.

Remember save and activate your workflow.

This workflow is the background workflow and it can only be triggered only on record creation.

If you want the previously created quote to also execute this workflow, use real-time workflow.

    Hi Najla,

Yes, you can also use PowerAutomate to create a flow. To create a workflow in Power Apps, you can leverage the Power Automate platform, which is closely integrated with Power Apps.
Here are the references for PowerAutomate flow configurations:

    Hope this helps!

Thank you for your response. I'm brand new to Dynamics. Would I find this in Power Apps? Thank you

    Hello Najla,

You can use workflow with wait conditions in CRM to send email notifications when the quote will be 6 months old. By configuring the time period in the workflow based on the CreatedOn field, you can achieve this.

Refer to below links to set/configure workflow with wait conditions:

    Hope this helps!
