Save Image on SharePoint instead of CRM

Posted on by 12,070 Super User 2024 Season 1

Hi All,

I have an entity on which I am using entity image. I want to save this image in SharePoint instead of CRM. Is there anyway to do so?

Thanks

Regards,

Abdul Wahab

    Hi Adrian

As you know CRM storage is very expensive that is why I want this solution. I am doing r and d on it. I will be back once done.

    Thank you so much

    Regards,

    Hi Abdul Wahab,

You can set and retrieve entity images programmatically, so in theory it is possible to retrieve an entity image from SharePoint and set it in CRM when a form is loaded. However, this will require a lot of development for a small increase in available storage space.

I recommend purchasing additional storage space instead, or freeing storage space with other methods.

    Hi Arun,

Thank you for you reply. Yes I am talking about the logo/icon image. I am using CRM online and I can see entityimage attribute only. I want to save my CRM space for that purpose I want to store this logo in share point instead of CRM. Is there any way?

    Thanks

    Regards,

    Abdul

If you are talking about the logo/icon image used to store image for each record (entityimage & entityimageurl attributes) and showing in the record form, they are actually base64 storedin CRM database. There’s no OOB option to store it in SharePoint.

But if you want you can store the same in SharePoint by using plugin & use it for different purpose. But crm platform cannot pull from SharePoint & show it in the same place.
