Views shared with a team

Hi,

We have business units in CRM which has teams that can be granted to users for them to have access to a certain business unit aside from their default business unit. Once user raised a concern as he have access to almost all the teams, and views are shared to the teams he is in, causing him to have too many views and he is not happy with it as he doesn't need them, so we have to remove them.

I already tried XRMtoolbox plugin Personal User Views Migration but when checking the user's views shared with him, the views shared to the team he is in is not showing, only the views shared directly with him.

My questions are:

1. Is there a way to remove those from him, like removing the views shared with the team he is in without him being removed from the team or the view is unshared with the team?

2. Is this same with CRM V9? (he is actually asking this one)

    Hi,

    I do not believe there is capability to remove the views for the user without impacting the shares from within the UI (this applies to version 8 and 9). Two options I can think of:

    1. Utilize the "All Records" type views to show all the records for a particular entity that they have access to and remove specific views for each team the user is in. This is assuming you don't need the views and could utilize just a generalized view. However, the views were probably setup this way for a reason.

    2. If this is common among a number of users (for example: say mid-level or regional type managers), you could create a new team that gives access but doesn't assign the views and remove them from the other teams.  This would then require you add the original team (for the other members) and then this new team (for the mid level managers) to get access to the record.  However, this new team, you could automate the sharing based on criteria using a plugin.

    Hi Dan,

    Thanks for your answer & suggestion. I actually doubt that it will be different for V9.

    Unfortunately, I cannot remove the view for each teams as it is always assumed that members of that team needs the view.

    Maybe we can go for your suggestion of automating the sharing to another team based on a certain criteria. Or restrict/prohibit sharing to those teams and use another team dedicated only for sharing.
