Hi HP,

Is your idea about a production environment where data should not be visible or a test environment where particular data needs to be obfuscated? If it is about production, note that with XDS you can only hide complete records. To hide field values, you can achieve this by using table and field permission overrides on security privileges and roles.

In case your idea is related to a non production environment, it is possible to create a script that changes sensitive data values in the database after restoring a copy from production.

That's why I have added the idea to the portal to the product team to enhance some functionality around ERP. All this custom Or detail security/XDS/Permission level work is time-consuming and cost-consuming. Thanks for your input. Please help to support this idea so we could have that functionality in D365FO product.
