How to import contacts to a segment ?

Hello everyone,

I'd like to import existing contacts to a segment. The contacts I'd like to import are in my CRM and in my Excel file. I want to use my excel file to import them.

Is that possible in the standard ?

For information, I consulted these links and it seems that a workflow or a plugin is needed.

    Hi,

    The most easy way to achieve your request is to create a custom field in Contact entity, e.g. Source File.

    And then insert it into one of the contact forms in order to make it show in the import template.

    After setting the above, you can download the template from the Advanced Settings > Settings > System > Data Management > Templates for Data Import.

    Fill the contacts information and the value of the custom field into the template file. You can populate the field with the file name.

    Finally, import the file and the field can be used as a condition in your segment to filter out the imported contacts.
