D365 Realtime Marketing Customer Journey Frequency

I need to send email reminder to the CRM contacts to complete their course. This reminder needs to be sent 4 month before , 2 month before and 5 day before of their course expiration. I think i may have to create 3 segments for above conditions but i need to understand which D365 Realtime marketing customer journey frequency can be used in this scenario? Individual contacts may have different course expiry date.
 
  • Ongoing: Ongoing journeys run only once with a dynamic audience segment. 
 
or 
 
  • Repeating: These journeys repeat based on the time interval specified.
