Microsoft has named company veteran
Mike Morton as the new general manager for Dynamics 365 Business
Central. The announcement came at today's Business Central
eventfocused on 2020 release wave 1.
"We were incredibly lucky to find an experienced Microsoft
leader with exactly the skills and experience to drive the next
wave of growth for Business Central in the cloud," said Microsoft
Technical Fellow Mike Ehrenberg in kicking off today's event.
Ehrenberg stated that he will continue with the CTO role over the
broader Dynamics product line.
Ehrenberg took over Business Central management duties following
departureof previous GM Marko Perisic in November 2018.
Morton spoke briefly at the event's keynote session but left
most of the specific guidance to other Business Central managers.
He takes over management of a Business Central cloud service that
now has over 6,000 customers, according to a slide shared at
today's event. That number is up from
guidance of "over 4,000" deployments in October 2019. The
number of solutions on AppSource has also grown in that time,
from over 450to over 750.
