I am trying to generate new number sequence. I am not able to slide "In use" slider to yes. I have tried to update through data management as well but did not work. I made changes in the entity, marked it as yes> imported successfully > but when I went back to number sequence it still shows as No
Hi Dipanjali, System handles "in use" once system started using number sequence and can not or shouldn't be updated while creating new number sequence by user. Just set all other properties for new number sequence and leave "In use" as is.
Field is read-only and shouldn't be updated by users. Here is a scenario that help explain the usage:
1. Create a number sequence, default in-use is No.
2. use the number sequence, in my example, created a production order.
3. go back to number sequence. the next number is updated as well as "in-use" is marked.
Can you tell us - Why do you want to update this field and set it to yes? Is there a specific business requirement that you are trying to solve using this check-box ? We can obviously search and tell you tables/way to get this updated but won't be recommended.
Please take time to click 'Yes' against the answers that help you guide in right direction to help other community members.
Why do you want to set the 'in use' parameter to yes?
D365FO is doing this automatically for you once it is in use.
Thank you everyone. This was fixed from backend in our case.
