I am looking to provide access to different users in the finance team, however some of them needs to have only 'generate' menu option and others will have the access to 'generate' and 'edit' .
Is there any default user role for that, or does it have to be customized?
You can identify the standard roles that can only generate and the standard roles that can also maintain financial reports here: terrychoo.com/.../ (As far as I know there has not been a change from previous AX versions).
So, it should be possible to achieve what you are looking for with the standard roles assuming that they fit your security requirements.
If I go under security in MR I can see the users list and their effective role as generator versus designer,...
However I can't change it.
It looks that it gets assigned following the user role that is assigned in D365.
If that is correct, how to differentiate between them?
Assign in D365, it will flow to MR. See details in link shared by Dr. Ludwig.
I see it Thanks Sam
