I am using D365 finance & operation.I am trying to use excel add in for importing journal lines.while setting up the connection with excel add in after entering credential excel gets hanged on credential screen only.Nothing process further.I am using client provided credential for connection.
Please suggest if you have faced same issue earlier
Could you please check below points in this regard.
1) If the MS Office is updated or not?
2) Is there any challenge in terms of connectivity issue in your place?
3) If you are doing copy and paste the login credential in excel add-ins; then just try to write both manually instead of this copy-paste work and check if this works!
4) Try with closing and re-opening the excel add-ins if this might help you to overcome this issue.
Kindly check and update in this forum.
Best regards,Sourav Dam

Are you on Office 365 or do you use an old local Excel installation on your computer?
Appreciate if you kindly update on this case for any further challenge.
1) try from other system
2) remove and releoad template in Excel
3) Double check access of user
4) Check user signed to Excel when opening the workbook
I have experienced this before. I would suggest trying 2 different things. 1.) What web browser are they using? I would recommend using chrome, or Mozilla, not I.E., or Edge. I seem to lose pop-ups that way. 2.) Additionally, clear the cache on the web browser. Okay maybe more than 2 things... 3.) try signing into excel first. 4.) also try working in a private/incognito window.
I recently worked with a client where I ran into this issue, but it wasn't for every user. Mostly, it was users in non-us countries. At any rate, these various options were tried, and seemed to work. I don't necessarily know the route cause though. Hope this helps!
Dug through some emails, and found one more option. Your O365 might need to be updated. Looks like the users that didn't have an updated version were experiencing this issue.
Have you got chance to go through the comments made in this thread? We are expecting feedback from you. Kindly update.
Thanks All for your valuable replies!
I have tried all the things suggested by you and here are my finding
1.Another user is able to use excel add ins without any issue from same environment so version issue should not be there
2.I tried to use desktop excel app and online excel from one machine , it didnt work.I tried with online excel from another machine with same credential and it worked.
I am unable to find out now what will be the reason and how to resolve it
What might help is deleting and recreating the user in D365FO.
If this does not help then you can contact the MS support.
They can take a look at your machine and might quickly identify the underlying issue.
