In almost all F&O implementation projects we come across with the question about archiving important documents or files. We've implemented various solutions from vertical solutions to fileshares during the years. Does anyone have a good proposal which could be the ideal solution? They often ask what is Microsoft's best practice, but I guess there isn't any - at least I haven't heard of it. Recently I've been thinking about utilizing Azure Storage options. At least it's quite inexpensive.
Like you mentioned, there are various options. It depends on the business, type of documents, number of transactions, etc.
If you do expect to have a large database for F&O in the cloud, then you might hit the licensed database size. To prevent additional license costs, you can then indeed use the Azure Storage options.
