If you think you already like D365 for marketing, wait until you see the new features in the 2019 Release Wave 2.
The release plan is now out, and we can’t not get excited with all the new features Microsoft has in store for us.
Multi column layouts
The already impressive emails designer, is now even more impressive. The biggest ask from our customers around emails always has been to be able to choose the layout of their templates on the fly. More than once we would sit in a workshop and we would get asked to brand and style one template where they could change the number of the columns in the container dynamically depending on whether they are designing their 3 column newsletter or their 2 column anniversary campaign for example. Before we had to style several different templates for them because the layout was always pre-determined by the layout of the template.
Going forward that’s not an issue anymore with the new multi column layout designer.
Segments
The segments designer is changing for the better, making it much easier and intuitive to design the each of the different segment types. Now you can choose the type you need beforehand and the system gives you a starting point to work with.
Forms Pro Surveys
With VOC getting deprecated, non-anonymous surveys were not supported for a small period of time. With the new release Microsoft are introducing Forms Pro Surveys as a new component available to drag and drop into your customer journey. You can now make automated use of the feedback your customer gives you including it as a criterion for a segment, or a lead scoring.
It's worth pointing out here, that unfortunately this feature is not available for Early Access, so we will have to wait until October to see how it's all looking and coming together.
View details about failed form submissions
Each of your marketing forms will now have a new tab where you could see all failed entries for your marketing form.
Submission could fail if any information that the back end system considers mandatory hasn’t been passed in from the front-end form. Previously, failed submissions were usually lost, but now the system stores them and lets you decide how and when to act on them.
Easy setup for subscription lists
It’s now even easier to set up a new subscription list. Previously, you needed to set up a marketing list with a predefined specific configuration, while now the system takes care of the configuration for you. You also have the option in your site map as a link.
Quick create leads by scanning business cards
This is a courtesy of an update to the Sales modules, rather than the marketing one, but because they share the same back end and forms, marketing can also benefit from it. It is as easy as scan your business card with your phone camera when using the Marketing app on your mobile, the system will read the data and pre-populate the lead fields for you.
AI - Preview features
And last but not least, AI is not a thing of the past anymore. It is here and it is here to stay. 3 new AI features are included in the 2019 Wave 2 - Spam score calculation, smart scheduling within a customer journey and segment boost.
See for yourself - Early access
If you are excited to try all the new features out for yourself, the early access is now available. It launched on the August the 2nd and could be enabled by any global admin in your organisation.
General availability
The dates for the general availability have now been announced, and you can check the date for your region here.
