I am hopping someone can guide me through this. I have installed the MS Project add in for PSA but it does not appear on the ribbon. I have click to run version of MS project which is Microsoft Project Online Desktop client. It used to work when I had a MSI version which I no longer have access to. My PSA version is 3.6x.
Any guidance would be highly appreciated as we are putting PSA in production and its much easier to create tasks with the addin vs. doing it on the web gui
You need to use Microsoft Project Professional 2016. I think that Project Professional 2019 is not yet supported. You need to be on Windows 10. Other operating systems are not supported.
Make sure you use the add in for PSA ver. 3.x (https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/download/details.aspx?id=57956) not 2.x (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=54299). If you Project is 32-bit, so must be the add-in.
You could update your PSA instance to 3.7 but any version from 3.4 should be fine.

The Microsft project online is not getting accessed and it is also not transmitting the files through the MS scripts and this is happening on my system as well. It is happening because of the Microsoft compatibility telemetry windows 10
So I found a weird workaround. I installed the msi version of project 2016. The add in worked then I did an upgrade to click to run version and the addin continues to work.
