I know that the social pane can not be customized but when you click an appointment it opens into a new window and passes the account over. When you do a phone call or task it adds it on the account page in the social pane. Can the phone call/task buttons be used similar?
Unfortunately not. Like everything else with social pane, this is also by default and cannot be changed. I guess the reason is that appointment needs more information to capture compare to phone call/ task.
Hope this helps.
If you mean you want the "Add Phone Call" and "Add Task" buttons on the account form social pane could add phone calls and tasks into social pane automatically, it is possible because it is an OOB function.
I did some test in my instance and here are the results.
Add a phone call
Add a task
If my understanding is not correct, please feel free to let me know and kindly share us your requirement with more details.
Hope it helps.
Thank you. I figured as much but wanted to check. Social Pane is a great feature but the ability to not customize it really hinders us from using it.
