My company uses Microsoft Exchange on prem for our email service. We are implementing Dynamics CRM and would like to configure Dynamics so that it scrapes all INCOMING and OUTGOING emails that are from/to an account, contact, or lead in Dynamics. We do not want to require people to click "enable" or "track" or otherwise require a step by a human, we want this scrape function (if the emails match an account, contact, or lead) to be automatic.
It appears that this can be done for INCOMING emails only, but we want to track our sales people's outgoing emails as well. Does anyone know if/how this is possible? Or does this require custom, back-end development to implement?
Thanks in advance,Alex
"it scrapes all INCOMING and OUTGOING emails" - Could you elaborate on what it means?
Do you want to delete all emails in D365 tracked from Outlook?
Please heck the following posts.
Hope this helps
"scrape" just means that Dynamics is tracking/copying emails sent and received through Outlook and linking/associating them with the appropriate record in Dynamics.
For example, if one of my sales people sends an email to an email address that is a contact in Dynamics CRM, that email will be associated with that contact's record in Dynamics so that when I view that contact in CRM, it displays the email correspondence between my sales person and the contact.
No, I don't want to delete the emails in D365. I am trying to add additional functionality to associate OUTGOING emails to the appropriate records in Dynamics.
Thanks for the tip! It looks like we are not the only ones who are looking for this functionality. The first link describes how to track ALL emails, including emails between CRM users, which we do not want to do (that would create too much clutter in the system).
We are looking to track ALL emails that are to/from email addresses associated with existing records in CRM.
Unfortunately, this is impossible.
You could only manually track outgoing D365-related emails, not automatically.
