My client has asked me if I can remove the RANDSTRING from the end of the autonumbers for Quotes and Orders as their customers will not like them.
It's Dynamics 365 for Sales Professional and it's version 9,1.
I know how to do this using XRMToolbox, but I am wondering if there might be any knock on effect of removing the randstring.
1. For records created after modifying AutoNumber format, their format will be in the format you set. That is, RANDSTRING will be removed.
We can do it easily with XRMToolbox.

2. For existing records, you have to use the C# plugin to update them.
Many thanks for the reply.
I had figured out how to change it, and I am not concerned about existing items as they were only test data.
However, in the Microsoft documentation, it mentions that the Randstring is used for avoiding conflicts if people are using the system offline.
We have no plans to use it offline, so I was wondering if it was safe to remove the Randstring, or if anyone has encountered issues after doing so.
