One of our requirement in Dynamics 365 to SharePoint integration demands GUID to be suffixed to the folder names so when user uploads document in SharePoint, CRM record gets updated. However, due to depth of sub folders, the URL for the specific document is greater than 400 characters. This restriction is not allowing users to use file explorer option in their machine to connect to SharePoint and work (edit) on the documents.
Has anyone faced this issue and found any solution?
As this is a limitation, you can only look into reducing the length of the url by either removing the guid or using a short name.
You can refer this article to remove the Guid-bettercrm.blog/.../
Hope this helps.
That's correct !
There is a 400-character limit on the directory path to a file in SharePoint.
