We are exploring the options to go with D365 app for outlook instead of outlook legacy client. We see D365 pane is enabled in individual email messages. But we are unable to find the navigation area to see D365 records like how it will be in legacy client.
Is it not available in D365 app for outlook?
Do we need to use it together with legacy client?
Hi, Could you please share a screenshot.
So i can answer your question.
Which D365 records do you want to see?
1. All the records that you have permission to see in D365.
There should be a search button in the navigation bar, if not, please click on three points.
Then you can use the category search to find the records in the D365 you want to view. If you enable relevance search, you can also use it here.
2. View this email.
You have to track this email before you can see it in D365.
Click on the three points to the right of 'Not tracked', then click 'Track without Regarding' and wait for it to be tracked successfully.
Once it has been successfully tracked, you can click on 'View email' and it will go to the email interface in D365.
Thanks for the detailed answer.
What I'm looking for is, in legacy client, we have navigation pane in the outlook, to navigate to CRM entities. Please find below screenshot FYR.
But in app for outlook, I just see search option. For example, what if user wants to see all his open opportunities from outlook while using D365 app for outlook.
This requires us to manually add these entities to the D365 app for outlook sitemap.
Go to Advanced Settings > My Apps, open the app designer of the D365 app for outlook.
Click on the site map.
Add a Subarea. For the newly added subarea, select its entity.
Then add multiple subareas to different entities again until you have added all the entities you want to display in the D365 app for outlook.
You can categorize entities using Area and Group.
Save and publish. The effect is as follows.
Click on the menu in the top left corner of the D365 app for outlook and it will pop up our designed sitemap.
Thanks for the detailed steps. One more thing I would like to know is, will the D365 pane docked to the right side of the email always? Is it possible to open separately?
