What is required to allow 'activities' (e-mailes, calls, notes, etc..) to be carried through to an updated quotation?
The Quote form has a timeline under the 'Details' tab by default, where you could create activities related to this Quote.
To associate an existing activity with Quote, we need to open the activity and select the 'Regarding' field as the Quote record.
1) Open the activity record, search in the Regarding field, click Change View.
2) Select Quote and its view.
3) Select a Quote record.
Is this the only way to merge the activites. There could be several hundred e-mails and phone calls to a given quotation record, that when the quotation is revised -each time- would have to be reconnected to the new revision.
By design, the activities will not move from one quote to other quote.
But all the activities will be consolidated under Opportunity Timeline.
If you go to opportunity form and see the timeline, the activities of related lead, opportunity, quote (all versions) will be available here.
"Opportunity" is the center here. So it is suggested user always check the opportunity timeline for all the related activities
