We have recently changed some pricing in our price lists. What we have discovered is that after the change if a user opens an opportunity and the existing lines on the opportunity contain one of the updated price list items then the price is updated on the opportunity line
1. How do we stop this happening?
2. Why is this happening on open of the opportunity? As far as I can tell nothing happens until you open that opportunity record.
Can anyone shed any light on what is happening here?
Did you add product to the Opportunity Entity associating the price list ?
Please check the "Pricing" field value of the opportunity line item. Is it set to "Use Default" or "Override Price"? If it will be set to "Use Default" then on pricing change of price list, it will change the amount of the related opportunity line item based on the price list's amount.
I hope it will help you to identify the issue.
Pricing should be locked by default I believe, you may need to check the settings.
