we're missing the Option to create a new Contact within our D365 Sandbox Enviroment.
As you can see, we miss the New button to create a new record.. Is there any chance to edit that?
Thank you very much!
Are you with a sys admin role?
Have you ever cutomized the ribbon for contact entity?
Please install Ribbon Workench and investigate the display rules and enable rules for that button. If you need help please open a service request and we'll do it together.
thanks for your quick response!
Yes, I am with sys admin role.
We've imported some ribbons that we've used in our previous crm 2016.. but these are just buttons that open a new tab with google or linkedin searches.. they're working fine in the account entity.
I also can't see any display rules within the Ribbon Workbench but I see the missing buttons (also Delete, which is missing).
Best thing to do now is for you to add "&ribbondebug=true" at the end of the URL and load page.
After that go to the "three dots" and click on "command checker", you'll be able to see why the button is being hidden
For example, my org:
cool thanks for that information!
I've enabled that and it says, that "New" is hidden and the following Display Rule is "false" ->
"Delete" is also hidden..
How can I change that, as I don't see any Display Rules within the Ribbon Workbench?
Thank you very much for your assistance!
Hi Maurice, my pleasure.
Are you sure you have the administrator role from the logged in user? It seems you're missing the create privilege for the contact.
Can you try with a different user or give that user the create contact privilege?
yes, I am 100% sure.. I also tried that with our O365 Admin and it's still the same.. also this is our sandbox and only system administrators have access to that environment.
ok, you'll be able to see the display rules abd enable rulen if you go to the ribbon workbench and click customize button. After that a new item will be shown inside buttons. right click on that abd choose "customize command".
sorry to bother you once again. I've found the mentioned display and enable rules, but I'm to confused to see what I've to change or truly enable.. could you assist me with that?
Hi Maurice, no worries at all.
Try to disable the Mscrm.CreateSelectedEntityPermission just for testing purposes and try to replicate the issue after.
Anyway, being your an admin role that rule shouldn't be evaluated to false.
Don't you want to create a service request? You could send me the case number and I would help you
I've opened a support request, ID: 120032422003421.
I'm sharing here the solution, maybe someone has same problem in the future.
The "read-only in mobile" is checked for the contact entity so you need to uncheck it:
