I'm puzzled with this strange behaviour in the new Unified User Interface.
When I create an activity (i.e. Telephone or E-Mail) within the contact then the activity is actually shown in the company relatd to that contact and not in the contact like it used to be. I'm already searching the web but can't find anything about that. This is no way we could work because you need to see the activity in the contact.
what am I doing wrong here?
If we send an email to a contact, this email will appear in two places, the contact's own timeline and the company's (account) timeline.
This is actually by design, and we cannot change it.
In your case, the email to the contact doesn't appear in the contact's timeline, right?
If so, please check if the timeline of the contact form is set any filter.
You can also check the properties of the timeline in the form editor.
i wasn't precise enough. First of all, everything you mentioned is already set up like that.
For some reason sometimes it works, sometimes not.
The main purpose was to create a telephone activity to set as a reminder with a due date, so that you would also see it within the activities of the contact. but for some reason sometimes that activity doesn't show in the contact but only in account. then i found an information in the activity timeline stating that there were missed activities. opening that showed the just created telephone activity. BUT no matter what setting are done in the filter, you cannot bring this created activity in the standard view list there.....
I still have the feeling there is something else producing the problem.
the new UUI drives me crazy on multiple occasions per day.....and it is really frustration how many things are not only different but in my opinion actually worse than before.
Is 2020 release wave 1 enabled in your environment?
Please check whether the Regarding field of Phone Call will affect it.
Yes, that is all the case.
I am not sure exactly why, but now it seems to work. I only made sure that the settings in the account and contact are identical in the activities settings. i set the option to not show any filters. if that was the solution i don't know. however, it seems to work now.
thanks for the help anyway!
