Customers who are still using the old or Legacy storage model are looking on how to migrate to the new storage model;
Is this a licensing thing? Will this be automatic? Is there an end date ?
There are some things that you can do in order to verify this:
a) You can purchase any of the new licenses (Common Data Service Database capacity, Common Data Service File Capacity, Common Data Service Log Capacity) at any moment.
b) If you have any of the new "model", you can cancel any "legacy" storage license (Additional Database Storage, Additional Production instance, Additional Non Production instance) and
c) Upon Renewal of contracts/Subscriptions, you can remove any legacy capacity (Additional Database storage, Additional Production, Additional NonProduction). This will leave the Dynamics Applications / Customer Engagement licenses only and this should be treated as new storage capacity.
