I need to create a field on Opportunity form that will show me the sum of current cost of products added to this opportunity.
I have already created a calculated field on the opportunity product form named "current_cost_total" and set it's value as: "productid.currentcost * quantity".
When I add the products from Opportunity form I see that the field is working correctly and it's showing me the actual value of the current cost set on product multiplied by the quantity.
I now need to sum up the value of this "current_cost_total" field from all the products added to a opportunity in my Opportunity form.
I've tried a rollup field but I can't refer to my calculated field with it.
I've also tried creating a currency simple field on the opportunity product named "current_cost_total_value", and set up a bussines rule that will fill that field with the values from mu calculated field.
That way I could refer to that field from Opportunity using a rollup field. But the problem is that the bussines rule only starts when I enter a opportunity product form, and I need it to start when a product is added to an opportunity, without entering the product form
Is there any other option to do it without using a businnes rule? I've heard that it is possible using Power Automate, but I don't know how to do it.
Can anyone help me solve this problem?
Thank you for your query.
Did you try setting up the business rule scope to Entity instead of form?
Yes the scope that I have on a business rule on my opportunity product is set to Entity.
From my Opportunity form, when I add product to the opportunity, in the opportunityproductsGrid I have a view that shows me my calculated field (current_cost_total=productid.currentcost * quantity), and also the the simple field "current_cost_total_value" (this one should be filled by using the businnes rule).
When the new product is added I see that the calculated field is showing the costs properly but the simple field is empty - so the business rule didn't start.
But when I enter my newly added product from the opportunityproductsGrid i get a "saving" notification and the businnes rule starts filling my simple field.
But i need it to be done when the product is added,
Or I need to find another way to get the sum of current costs of all products added to the opportunity on my Opportunity form.
