I'm new to this forum so I hope my question is posted in the right place and manner.
For one of our users, we want to create a view of phone calls that includes some columns of data from contacts and accounts that are connected to the phone call via the "to-connection".
With the standard advanced find function, I'm not able to select the columns. Using FetchXML builder I'm able to create a FetchXML that picks up all the info that we need. I don't know how to publish this FetchXML back to Dynamics365.
I tried to use the view designer in XRMToolbox but save the view back to Dynamics365 we need to include all columns in de original advanced find view to be able to save it back to Dynamics 365.
I hope you can point us in the right direction.
Thanks in advance.
Thank you for your query.
You cannot directly create a view from fetch xml, some of the fetch xml features are not supported in the views.
If you have a working FetchXML, create an SSRS report using it:
"Create a new report with SQL Server Data Tools in Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (on-premises) | Microsoft Docs" docs.microsoft.com/.../create-a-new-report-using-sql-server-data-tools
Thank you for your answer.
It's clear to me that I can not use my FetchXML query as a basis for my view. I will try to create a SSRS report as you suggest.
I have also looked into the https://crmchartguy.com/power-query-builder/ to see if I create a similar solution using Power BI since we are using Power BI more and more.
