This is what I had to write to a customer. Do you expect the customer to actually understand this? I don't care if we increase the attract/onboard license, but the comprehensive should be included. It is embarrassing to make a simple product like Talent become so complex. We have to make sure that the customer can make a simple yes/no when seeing the price for a product that should not in any way be as complex as the ERP platform to license.
This is what I had to write to a 5 user:
Onboarding 8 $ per user per month if the customer only uses the Onboarding application.
When the customer starts using the Attract application the licensing becomes a bit more complicated.
The customer must purchase a minimum of 5 full HR licenses, 40 $ per user per month, and if there are other users that want to use Onboarding and Attract, their license is 12 $ per user per month.
In addition to this, you need to buy the comprehensive hiring add-on. This is based on the number of employees in the company. The minimum number of employees covered is 200, and the price on the license is 400$ per month (200 $ per 100 employee).
The total cost for 5 users for the full use of the system and the add-in is: 40*5 + 400 = 600$ per month.
If the customer acquires the unified operations (or dynamics 365) plan license for users, the license cost for Core HR, Attract and Onboarding is 400 $ per user per month (you only need to cover the Comprehensive Hiring add-on).
As the Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Talent WW Sales Director, I appreciate your feedback. We continually look to make improvement and changes based on the feedback.
We do have simple excel templates that a partner can use to do the pricing and proposals to help talk about how we license the product. This is also consistent with other ATS products in the market on licensing.
I am happy to share how we are messaging the product to the customer in a simple fashion. Please reach out to me at email@example.com if you need some more assistance.
I think one of the drawbacks of the licensing today is that you have to have core to use the comprehensive hiring add-on which is an Attract add-on, and that the add-on itself is complicated to understand!
