in crm>business relation details>activities,
I have created a new activity by giving attendees. While saving it is showing me the error as below:
Cannot create a record in Activity parent links (smmActivityParentLinkTable). Primary link: Yes, Business relations. The record already exists.
wat does this mean? pls suggest
it seems that you have already a record with exactly the same combination of key fields.
The unique key of this table consists of the fields shown below.
I would check already existing records.
thanks for your reply. this is how my table structure is.
can you please brief me some more clearly..
so the table is customized as i understand.
The error indicates that there is already a record with the same key fields.
Can you see any other records on the form?
If not i would check the table via table browser (CTRL-o on the table knot). Maybe there is some filter on the form.
Debugging the tables insert-methods could also be an option.
Thats all i can say by now.
there are no other records on the form. this is the first record im trying to record.
but if i go to that table i can see many records..
Yes thats strange. So there is some filter on that form.
Are you working on a development environment or is this a prod. environment? From here it's hard to say if the data is wrong or the query on the form.
To check out the query on the form you can right-click on the grid and choose "Personalize", then click on the "Query"-Tab. There you can see all the Datasources belonging to this query. I would search and examine the "Ranges"-knots for some strange filter-criteria. To me it sounds like a bug which came along with customization.
If you have data in your table, but not on the form, this is probably because the main datasource has a joined datasource that results in no joined records. Please check out the joined data sources to check out which one results in no records.
finally wat we have done for this is first created an activity and saved. and later added the attendees. but i think this wouldn't be a permanent solution.
