Quarantine orders - difference between Reported as finished and Ended

Good afternoon,

I've read :

By clicking Report as finished, you can report a started quarantine order as finished. The item is released from quarantine but is not yet moved back to the regular warehouse. If you are using warehouse management, you can specify an item arrival journal that is initialized with the items for the quarantine order.

When a quarantine order that was reported as finished is ended, the item is moved from the quarantine warehouse back to the regular warehouse. The status of the item transaction is set to Sold at the quarantine warehouse and Purchased at the regular warehouse.

OK, I understand. BUT when it's writen "The item is released from quarantine", I want to understand that the stock is now considered as "available" but it'snt the cas;  it stay as "reserved" !!

Do you agree with me ?

Last question : what about quarantine order in the next AX version ? Do you have any news ?

Thanks for return

    Dear,

In AX   Sold means Issue transaction. In your case if it goes to QTN warehouse means inventory is issue. Purchased means received at regular warehouse.

And it will be reserved against that quarantine order.

For the next major release after Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3, the quarantine order functionality will be deprecated.

The quarantine order allows you to block inventory during inspection by transferring physical inventory to a dedicated quarantine warehouse. After inventory is blocked, the quarantined inventory is identified by the material requirements planning (MRP) feature. The quarantine order functionality also allows quarantined inventory to be scrapped.
