I am trying to delete an item on released products with a production type "None" and no transaction at all. But this infolog error appears: Items cannot be deleted while dependent Production BOM exist. Delete dependent Production BOM and try again.
Have you checked the where-used in engineer tab?
Production BOM is the label of AOT Table\ProdBOM.
This table stores Bill of material information the production order is going to use.
Please check if the item has any related production order and see if you can clear the production order.
The item was not attached to any formulas.
The item has no transaction at all nor where-used formulas. The item is just erroneously created and needed to delete.
Can you check the ProdBOM table to see if there is any record in there that ties with the product?
Have you checked where-used for BOM and Formula, or only for formula?
If there is no data, then you can go directly into AOT, to the ProdBOM table and search by ItemId field. This search will give you the information where it's used
Hi Galyna and David,
I am not familiar with AOT.
After reaching ItemId (Data dictionary > Tables > ProdBOM > Fields > ItemId), what should I do next? Thank you so much.
1. Locate ProdBOM table under "Data dictionary > Tables > ProdBOM". Right click and click open.
2. Filter the product id you can not delete under the ItemID field. Note: Hit Ctrl+G to enable the filter option.
3. Once filtered, if there is any records, scroll to the ProdId field to retrieve the production order Id. These production orders are the ones that are preventing you from deleting the product.
Hi Sir David Hu - Fusion Alliance,
I followed your instruction and found out there are BOD's on that item.
Example: I want to delete item X (no BOM, no formula, no inventory transaction), and upon viewing the AOT, the item has prodID BOD01, BOD02, BOD03. Upon checking BOD's, no yield of item X. Also, no consumption of item X. The BOD's are also have Ended status.
What is the cause of this? How will I remove the prodID on the said item? Thanks.
