I am reconciling the records in InventTrans for a period. I am doing the reconcilation through SQL queries.
Now I will come to the point.
I see many records having different InventDimId (InventLocation) in CustInvoiceTrans and InventTrans.
I am comparing records in CustInvoiceTrans & InventTrans through InventTransId.
How is this logically even possible ? What can be the reasons for such wrong entries. ?
And finally give suggestion on dealing with these kind of issues.
It's not an issue. For example, you can create 1 Sales Order line for 10 laptops. Then register 10 different serial numbers. You will have 1 SO line and 10 transactions behind and invetdim will be different for all of them. Question here is why do you want to reconcile these records ?
I know the cases for serial numbers and how inventdimid relates.
My case is different.
For example in one custinvoicetrans line of 10 qty, i have a dimid "INVD-001" and inventtransid "LOT-0012345".
When I go and check inventtrans table for inventtransid "LOT-0012345" and that exact itemid, i can see two inventtranslines.
5 qty - InventDimId = "INVD-001"
5 qty - InventDimId = "INVD-002"
I am reconciling inventtrans and custinvoicetrans because i was getting mismatch when taking sales qty report from inventory module and custinvoicetrans for specific inventdim (location)
And if you look at those inventdim records what is different there? And check that no one picked them from different inventory dimensions. Also it could be delivery note.
Not sure why you are trying to reconcile inventTrans and custinvoicetrans based on inventDimId. It can be very well different even if you don't use serial numbers. Try finding a different solution to your problem.
I will explain the case with one case I have.
In below sales order, I have one line with warehouse AFC1050 in custinvoicetrans. But when I check the corresponding inventory transaction, warehouse is AFC1500.
I compared the inventdimId between these two entries and found that it is posted in inventory module different to that in custinvoicetrans.
Normally I dont need to reconcile these data. But I see difference when I take sales report by Qty from custinvoicetrans and inventtrans and ended up in this reconcilation process.
