May i kindly know what are the reason that this search column on sales order is gray out/disable?
The column highlighted is Display column...that is it's not part of the sales table but Information is displayed from other tables. In this case based on customer account, name is shown. Display column don't allow direct filtering. Alternate option is to use extended filtering , add tables as relation and see if that would work.
You can search for the invoice account in the second column.
This should give you the same result if all of your customers don't have a different invoice account.
As others have said, it means the form is not getting the Customer account from its datasource, and AX is essentially having to calculate the value in each row.
Which is strange, because Customer account is most definitely a field on the Sales order header (SalesTable.CustAccount). What form is this?
Ideally it should not be greyed out, as you can see in the screenshot below.
Can you check in the Personalize form if the field is added automatically or manually. Let me know if the personalize form looks like the one below.
This post is my own opinion and does not necessarily reflect the opinion or view of my company or Microsoft.
A lot of feedback has been provided for your issue.
Would be great if you could review all of that and let us know whether your question is answered.
