Package Tracking NAV 2017

tpupko Profile Picture tpupko 2,048

It is realy nice to find useful function in NAV 2017.  When you know Item tracking number for logistic company you can save this information in NAV and track direct from NAV.

With NAV 2017 it is simple. I want to show example for DHL company

It is possible to specify tracking link for shipping agent.

First off all I need to set up tracking link for my shipping agent DHL Russia and I will use  www.dhl.ru/ru/express/tracking.html?AWB=%1&brand=DHL

%1 -  Package Tracking code

When Sales Order created and ready to ship, it is necessary to add information about Package Tracking No.

Sales Order can have several shipments with different tracking number, before posting new shipment it is possible to change Package Tracking No.

After Shipments posting there is possibility to check Package tracking - you can find this option in Posted Sales Shipment. It is necessara to stay on line with Posted Shipment and run Track Package.

NAV opens default browser with the package-tracking page

The Posted Sales Shipment can allow you to add/edit the Shipping Agent, Agent Service and Package Tracking No as well.  However, although these fields are set to editable, there are conditions that prevent them from being editable.  Does anyone know what criteria/conditions cause these fields to not be editable on the posted document?

Very nice indeed. By the way: this function exists in NAV since at least version 1.30 (which was released somewhere in the previous age).
