D365: How to configure item discount group and assign to item

Item discount groups can be created to group like items to apply pricing or discounts to on a trade agreement.

Note: Item discount group is a shared table between the Procurement and Sourcing and Sales and Marketing modules.

Navigate to the Procurement and Sourcing > Prices and discounts > Price/discount groups > Item discount groups.

Or navigate to the Sales and Marketing > Price and discounts > Item discount groups.

Select one of the value from Show drop-down, depending on what you want to create. By default the line discount group is selected.

Possible values are:

• Line discount group
• Multiline disc. group
• Postage group

In our example, we will create line discount group.

Click New button to create a new group.

Give the price group name, for example ‘04’.

Type in description, for example ‘Special items’.

In order to include the item in the item discount group, follow steps below:

Navigate to the Product information management > Product > Released products

Open the item record

Navigate to the Purchase Fast Tab

Use the Purchase FastTab to maintain information that is related to the purchase of the product.

Select the following values:

In the Line discount group field, select item discount group with the ‘Line discount group’ price / discount group type.

In the Multiline discount field, select item discount group with the ‘Multiline disc. group’ price / discount group type.

Navigate to the Sell Fast Tab

Use the Sell FastTab to maintain information that is related to the sale of the product.

Select the following values:

In the Line discount group field, select item discount group with the ‘Line discount group’ price / discount group type.

In the Multiline discount field, select item discount group with the ‘Multiline disc. group’ price / discount group type.
