How can I create a dashboard like the one you have in the video?

My company has been using Microsoft Dynamics GP for several years. Unfortunately we do not use GP to the fullest capabilities. Since I started a year ago I have been looking to do more with GP. We currently do not use the requisitions in GP and I would like to implement using requisitions. The hard seller is that we are a custom manufacturer and a lot of the parts we use do not have a part number. GP assigns it when we use a MO (job #) per item. Is it possible for the Requisition process to work without a part number? Would it work the same as if I put in a vendor number in the PO add a job number and it creates a job number part number?

Thank you for the video. It is quite helpful. The link to the blog is very useful as well. Are there any manuals for the Requisition module? I cannot seem to locate one on PartnerSource, or through the Printable manuals link in GP. We have a client who is moving from Business Portal requisitions to the internal GP requisitions. The setup and transfer would be a great video. Thanks.

Thanks for the feedback!  This was just a basic overview specific to Requisitions so maybe a video just on Workflow across all modules in general would be a good one for us to do in the future to address some of the questions that you had.  

As far as the domain user's go, my presentation was using the rich client.   When using the rich client you do not need to link your GP user to a domain account.   GP simply recognizes the domain account that you are logged into on our machine and uses that to determine if you are able to approve or not in the workflow.   So the GP user ID that I sign in with is not going to determine if I can approve or not in the rich client, the windows account that I am logged in as on my machine will make that determination.

If we were talking about Web Client, then yes, you would need to link your GP user to a windows account for your approvals since you could be accessing the web client from almost anywhere.  

I do have a separate blog with how the 'Employee to Direct Manager' workflow works and that gets into more detail on the user set up if you are planning to use that functionality and how to assign GP users to a specific Windows account.

It is good to get some feedback that you would like to see more examples using hierarchy and multiple conditions rather than just employee to direct manager.  All setup using hierarchy really relate to who is set to be the user's manager in the organization tab in active directory, so they are not too different overall, but demonstrating conditions are not always easy just due to the fact that the Workflows are so flexible and customizable and everyone's business is slightly different in what they want to achieve.

Thanks for this posted video.. I do have some comments about the presentation... Isaac mentions that only the domain user is going to be considered when working with the approval steps, but we clearly see that he's logged into Fabrikam Inc. with the 'sa' user... Somehow he forget to mention the missing link between the GP user login and the 'domain' user account in the security.. . If the domain account is not assigned to a GP user, the user will never be able to use the Workflow process.

Another point is that any training videos presented so far are making usage of direct managed approval assignments in GP, but rarely (if never) show how to deal with multiple levels of conditions when using the 'hierarchy' approval levels... something that would be more close to real-life context.

Otherwise, good work. Keep posting those helpful training videos.
