Un-allocate quantity on work centre load

Introduction:

We have seen how work centre is allocated load in my previous blog on capacity planning.

In cases of machine breakdown or a mishap or a maintenance repair work, it is necessary to take out the load on a machine. We might need to reschedule the same operation to some other shift or day.

This blog is to understand how to un-allocate or reverse the allocated quantity on work centre load.

We can easily accomplish it in 2 steps.

Steps:

Below is an image of completely allocated quantity with load 100% based on the capacity of the work centre load.

Suppose on 10/05/22, there was a machine failure, we would require take out the Capacity load and the allocated quantity.

  1. On the work centre List, select the work centre you would like to mark for failure and click on Absence

2. Enter the date, start time, end time and the description of the failure.

3. Click on Update to record the failure and click on ok to close the page.

3. Click on Load to review the work centre load. You’d notice only capacity is marked as 0 but work centre is still allocated the quantity.

4. To reverse the allocated qty, navigate to the released production order and click on replan.

The Replan function on production orders is typically used after you have added or changed components of production BOM. Changes implemented with the Replan function will change the capacity need of the production order and you may have to reschedule operations afterwards.

5. You can replan a production order in two directions – Forward and Backward.

ForwardCalculates the operation sequence forward from the earliest latest possible starting date, defined by due date
Note: This option is only relevant for expedite orders.

6. In the Plan field, select the level.

No LevelsDo not consider lower level production. This only updates the item’s schedule, like refresh.
One LevelPlan for first-level production demand. First-level production orders may be created.
All LevelsPlan for all-level production demand. All-level production orders may be created.

7. Click on OK to execute the re-planning of the production order

8. Navigate to the work centre and click on the load button.

The Allocated quantity assigned is removed and allotted to another date.
