Automation of Financial Reports Generation in Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations

Welcome to my next blog on Automatic generation of financial reports (management reporter) in MS D365 F&O

Business scenario

Sometimes it is a very tedious job to go through all the financial reports and generate those one by one by CFO, reporting manager from ERP software 

Hence the easiest way to deal with this is to automatic generation of report or group of reports, here Microsoft gives full flexibility to create report generation schedules as per the required frequency of report generation.

Let’s explore in detail

Navigate to General Ledger module->> Inquiries and Reports->> Financial Reports

Define which report/s will be generated in which frequency,

Example like below- all the balance sheet reports need to be generated monthly basis

Ledger transaction report will be generated in weekly basis

Configurations

From the General Ledger module->> Inquiries and Reports->> Financial Reports->> select New or Edit to open the Report designer  (management reporter framework)

Login using the correct email ID and credentials

Once the Report designer opens (MR framework), select New and then ‘Report Schedule’

The report schedule needs to be created as per the requirement

For multiple reports in a group, we need to create a “Report Group definition”

Once the configurations are done as explained above, reports will start auto generating
