Free up D365 Audit Logs

Introduction:

As businesses continue to grow, so does the amount of data stored in their systems. With this growth comes the need for efficient management of that data.

Audit logs are helpful, they can also take up valuable storage space over time.

    The entire tenant shares 2GB of log storage, while a single tenant may have multiple instances. Therefore, it is crucial to use the Audit log judiciously and efficiently.
    

In this blog post, we will explore how to delete D365 audit logs to free up space and improve performance.

          Before we dive into the steps, it’s important to note that audit logs cannot be recovered once deleted. Therefore, it’s critical to make sure you have a backup of the logs before proceeding with deletion.
      

Step 1: Access PPAC
To begin deleting D365 audit logs, open the PPAC and navigate to Delete Audit Logs.

Verify Audit Log Deletion

After performing actions to free up storage, the system can take up to 24 hours to update storage information. We recommend waiting up to 24 hours and monitoring your storage.
