D365FO Debugging

Debugging code is an essential part of a developers life. Having tools that make this simpler is a must. I use Debug Attach Manager https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=ViktarKarpach.DebugAttachManager

This tools enables me to quickly run in debug mode so I can understand what is happing with my code.

Setting up the tool is simple.

A new bug will be on your menu toolbar. Press the bug.

Since it has never been setup before, it will ask you to create an attachement. For D365FO this should be w3wp.exe

Double clip the name, this will add it to the processes to be attached at the bottom of the screen.

Then press attach.

In future when you press the bug it will automatically use this setting in future.
