Feature of the Week for Microsoft Dynamics SL 2011: GL - Journal Batch - Reversing, Correcting and Copying Batches

Why this feature is cool!

Data entry errors?  Never heard of them!  Though to err is human, Dynamics SL 2011 has a new way to make it easier to correct pesky GL journals.  GL Journal Transaction now includes an easy way to correct a GL entered batch.  Open any posted GL batch and choose the Correct Journal icon located to the right of the Batch Number. Clicking on the new icon brings up a form where you can do any of the following options: 

     Reverse

     Create a batch is that is identical to the original batch except the debits and credits amounts have been reversed. The only fields that may be edited in the new batch are Batch Handling and Period-to-Post.

      Reverse and Correct

     This option creates two new batches.  One is a reversing batch for the original batch with all the debit and credit amounts reversed.  Only fields Batch Handling and Period-to-Post can be changed.  A second batch is identical to the original batch and all fields in the new batch may be edited.

      Copy

     Create a new batch which is identical to the original batch.  All fields in the journal may be edited.
