While there are a few different ways to get your Dynamics 365 data into Power BI, in this article, I am showing you how to use the Dynamics 365 Online connector in Power BI. Please be aware that this connector works well for small datasets and is good for simple reports. Due to performance issues, this connector is not recommended to query large amounts of data

1.Launch the Power BI Desktop, click the “Get data” button and click “More…”.

2. Select “Online services” tab, click the “Dynamics 365 (online)” option, and click “Connect”.

3.In the Web API URL paste in your Dynamics 365 Finance & SCM environment URL. This connector uses OData endpoints, so at the end of the URL you need to add “/data”. Then click “Ok.

4.On the next window, click the “Organization account” tab and click the “Sign in” button. Sign in with the same username and password you use to sign into Dynamics 365 Finance & SCM. Then click the “Connect” button.

5.The Navigator dialog box appears. You use this dialog box to select which Entities you want to report on.

For example, in the search box, enter and select CustomerGroups. Once you have selected all the data entities you need, click the “Load” button.

6.Now you will see a CustomerGroups table on the right-hand side of the window.
