Dynamics 365 Project Service Automation: How to reactivate a closed project
Tested on:
Dynamics 365 version 9.0
There are times in Dynamics 365 Project Service Automation when one needs to reactivate projects that have already been closed. Sometimes projects are closed by accident if an end user clicks the Business Process Flow all the way to the Close stage on the out of the box Business Process Flow. On the Project entity's ribbon it is possible to reactivate the Business Process Flow however the ribbon lacks a "Reactivate Project" button similar to the "Reactivate Case" found on the Case entity.
The trick to opening an inactive project is actually quite simple and is solved with few clicks in Advanced Find. Create a new query and look for the "Projects" entity. Set "Status Reason" to equal "Inactive" to display the list of inactive projects. You may use other criteria as well if your list of inactive projects is long.
Click on "Results" after defining your criteria, select the project in question, click on Activate and confirm the activation.
When you refresh the project form you will find that the project is now active. To reactivate the Business Process Flow, click on "Process" on the ribbon and select "Reactivate".
