We are pleased to share our new capabilities made available in the October update of Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, Business edition, including alternative vendors, improved Excel reports and Azure Active Directory authentication for connectors.
Alternative vendors
We’ve made it easier to purchase the same item from multiple vendors. This can be a lifesaver when an important item is out of stock at the vendor you normally use, and you need to source it from somewhere else. You can also manage information such as prices and discounts on items for each vendor separately.
Trial Balance added to Excel reports
You can now open the Trial Balance report in Excel from the Role Center and Accountant Hub. To open this in Excel, click ‘Excel Reports’ in the Role Center for Business Managers and Accountants or on the Company Details page in the Accountant Hub.
Azure Active Directory Authentication for Connectors
Great news for all you Power BI, PowerApp, and Microsoft Flow users! We now support Azure Active Directory sign in when using our connectors. Connecting is a snap—you no longer have to find and enter connection information. Simply sign in with your Azure Active Directory name and password and we’ll do the rest.
During the sign in process the connector will automatically discover any tenants you are associated with, and automatically create the connection to them. You can find this feature in the Power BI Connector and in the PowerApps & Microsoft Flow Connector.
Three Checks per Page printing
You can now print three Vendor Checks per page using the new printing format. To set this up, go to the ‘Report Selections Bank Account’ page and choose ‘Usage type of Check’. Then choose Report ID 10413.
Intrastat Reporting in the United Kingdom
For users in the United Kingdom we have made improvements to Intrastat Reporting. You can now indicate that your company is required to prepare such reports and set default transaction types that enable faster Instrastat reporting. In addition, the Intrastat Checklist Report Action offers a visual indication of which journal lines contain errors that must be corrected before submitting your Intrastat report.
