Phoenix Dactylifera
Great! Now that I have your attention let me start with a fun fact. Dates are a great snack that I feast on these days. Four of these will make a great snack, anytime, anywhere and drive you all the way up to that guilt-free bliss in less than 100 calories.
In GP you come across so many dates-
- Document Date
- Posting or GL Posting Date
- Transaction Date
- Due Date
- Voided Date
- Check Date
- You spouse (Just kidding).
While many of these are self-explanatory, I recently had a user come up to me with the below query:-
Is there a report in GP to list out all my cash receipts that were posted yesterday but to a previous month?
3 questions later I ended up building a Bank Transactions smart list for this gentleman.
Here is a step-by-step guide of how I built that smart list for him.
He said that the auditors had asked for this information.
Launch smartlist in GP from
Microsoft Dynamics|Smart List|
Navigate to financials folder and expand to show Bank Transaction sub-folder
Step 1
Open the default smart list as shown in picture below
Step 2
Click on columns to add the Transaction Date (TRX Date) to the smart list as shown in the below picture
Step 3
Click on Add and type in “TRX Date” to grab the transaction date column to your smart list as in the below picture
Step 4
Click on the search to build the filter criteria as in the below, your situation may be different for the dates.
Step 5
Save this to a favorite by clicking on the favorites button found in the toolbar
Many thanks for reading this blog. Best of luck! Be well!
