SQL Server 2016 extends support to Dynamics NAV

Dynamics NAV team has officially announced that the SQL Server 2016 database engine is compatible with the following versions:

• Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2016,
• Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2015,
• Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2, and
• Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013

Express Edition, Standard Edition and Enterprise Edition of SQL Server 2016 is supported the given NAV versions.

As you would expect, NAV 2017 will natively work on SQL Server 2016 on launch.

Dynamics NAV team has also warned, that you should not install SSRS components of SQL Server 2016, as this will not work well with NAV RDLC reports.
