When posting in the GL, the detail is added to the summary totals of each account.
If a posting interruption occurs, the summary balance might not update. Under Financial - Utilities - Reconcile you can update all summary details at one time. If you select Year and Reconcile, GP will look at all the detail records and create new summary totals.

- FRx reads summary Totals for Financial Reports.
- Always do this after a backup!
- If you are reconciling a historical year, make sure you are keeping both account and transaction history. If not, DO NOT RUN RECONCILE!
- If you use the period cose process of Period Consolidation, DO NOT RUN RECONCILE!
- It happens very, very quickly.
