Auto Workflow Delegation capability in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations

Dear Dynamics 365 Lovers,

Sometime, end user asks us if they get ill or if they are off work due to any reason, is there any way their work can be delegated automatically?

The answer is ‘Of course’, it is possible in a simple way.

Let’s explore  

Business Scenario

User is ill/ in holidays/ off due to any other reason.

All his/ her workflow approval will auto assign to the delegated person in a simple way.

Solution

The solution can be incorporated by a simple way either by the user himself/herself or by admin in the system.

Let’s assume Ramit is a user who approves Purchase Order Invoices, however he is off due to scheduled holidays from 29^th Oct 2020 to 1^st Nov 2020

Ramit will not have any time to delegate his work manually one by one, instead the work will be automatically delegated by Dynamics 365 FO.

29^th Oct 2020 to 1^st Nov 2020

Steps to configure

1.Ramit can go to his user options right hand side above the form

2.From the workflow tab, add the details as shared below

3.Save the details

The is it, Ramit has no headache now during his holidays, if anything comes  up in Ramit's name for PO approval, those will be delegated by system automatically to Subha.

Note- This is very important Subha has correct permissions to approve Purchase Orders
