Adding a Report in a Dashboard is a common practice that every Microsoft Dynamics 365 user and admin should know.
Why would you want to do this, you may wonder? Adding a Report in a Dashboard may save you time instead of having to navigate to your reports area in Dynamics to view your most frequently used reports.
Follow these steps to add a Report in a Dashboard in Microsoft Dynamics 365:
- Navigate to the report area –

- Choose the report you wish to use and copy the entire URL (blue highlight)

- Navigate to the Dashboard’s edit screen – from the gear icon, select Advanced Settings > Settings > Customizations > Customize the System > Dashboards
- Choose the Dashboard where you want to add the report or create a new Dashboard if desired. Open the Dashboard for editing.

- Add an iFrame where you want to add the Report on the Dashboard. Name the pane, paste the URL from earlier, make sure that Restrict cross-frame scripting, where supported, is unchecked, and Pass record object-type code and unique identifier as parameters is also unchecked. Click OK when you are finished.

- You may have to increase the Height or Width many times. If you chose a frame that goes all the way across a page, then you will not be able to increase the Width.

- Save the Dashboard

- Publish – Navigate back to the Solution and Publish

Now you will see the report you use frequently in the Dashboard, ready to be run!
