
Important Dates for the 2020 Microsoft Dynamics 365 Wave 2 Release

Microsoft Dynamics 365 is evolving with today’s marketplace in new and exciting ways to help you do the same and move forward through times of great change.
The upcoming 2020 Microsoft Dynamics 365 Release Wave 2 follows suit. The second release starts this October, but there are some important dates to keep in mind before its general availability.
- July 8, 2020: “Release plans available: Learn about new upcoming capabilities for Dynamics 365 and Power Platform.”

- August 3, 2020: “Early access available: Try the new features and capabilities that will be a part of the October update of the 2020 release wave 2 before they are enabled automatically.”
- Oct. 1, 2020: “General availability: This is when production deployment for the 2020 release wave 2 begins. Regional deployments will commence Oct. 2, 2020.”
The current release wave 1 updates were pushed back due to COVID-19’s impact on the world.
Many businesses have had to adjust and cut back in today’s pandemic world. Microsoft has acknowledged and responded to these circumstances with empathy, offering key resources.
As of July 2020, Microsoft says “70% of the hundreds of features in the wave 1 release have shipped.” The remaining features will be shipped by September 2020.
